News from the Beloit International Film Festival (BIFF)
The February 19 screening of Fish Fry Night Milwaukee was SOLD OUT!
The venue, Bushel & Peck's, also added fish fry to their menu in honor of the film and that sold out as well! Approximately 120 people saw the Beloit premiere of the film. Some people had to be turned away at the door. But there is good news: Bushel & Peck's has asked Ron Faiola to come back for another screening of Fish Fry Night Milwaukee.
Fish Fry Night Milwaukee was the only film at the festival to sell out the showing. Since the screening Ron Faiola was known around the hospitality room as "The Fish Fry Guy."
From the Beloit Daily News, February 22, 2010: "[president of Stateline Festivals, Becky] Rogers said although BIFF is hoping to increase its online sales in the future, most of the seats at many of the venues were full. Friday night's viewing of "Fish Fry Milwaukee" (sic) left several people standing outside asking if there could be another show scheduled. It also inspired [film venue] Bushel and Peck's to purchase a fish fryer.
